  8. Notes concerning the newsletter and permissions

By the following notes, we inform you about the contents of our newsletter as well as the registration, shipping and the statistical evaluation procedures as well as your rights to objection. By subscribing to our newsletter, you agree to the receipt and the procedures described.

    Content of the newsletter

We send out newsletters, e-mails and other electronic notifications with advertising information (hereinafter referred to as "newsletter") only with the consent of the recipient or a legal permission. As far as the content of the newsletter is described within the scope of registration for it, such is relevant for the permission of the user. In addition, our newsletter contains information about campaigns, further developments of the webinar software, the company edudip, customer interviews, etc.

    Double-Opt-In and Logging

The registration to our newsletter takes place in a so-called double opt-in procedure. That means that you receive an e-mail after the registration in which you are asked for confirmation of your registration. This confirmation is necessary, so that no one can register with alien e-mail addresses.

Subscriptions to the newsletter are logged in order to prove that the registration process took place according to legal requirements. This includes the storage of the subscription and the confirmation time, as well as the IP address. Also the changes of your data stored with MailChimp will be logged.

Use of the "MailChimp" dispatch service provider

The newsletter is sent via "MailChimp", a newsletter distribution platform of the US provider Rocket Science Group, LLC, 675 Ponce De Leon Ave NE #5000, Atlanta, GA 30308, USA.

The e-mail addresses of our newsletter recipients, as well as their other data described in the context of this notice, are stored on the servers of MailChimp in the USA. MailChimp uses this information for the purpose of sending and evaluating the newsletter on our behalf. Furthermore, MailChimp states to use this data for the optimization or improvement of its own services, e.g. for the technical optimization of the dispatch and display of the newsletter or for economic purposes, to determine from which countries the recipients come. However, MailChimp does not use the data of our newsletter recipients to contact to them itself or to pass it on to third parties.

We have faith in the reliability and IT as well as data security of MailChimp. MailChimp is certified under the US-EU data protection agreement "Privacy Shield" and is therefore committed to complying with EU data protection regulations. In addition, we have concluded a data processing agreement with MailChimp. This is a contract in which MailChimp agree to protect the data of our users, to process it on our behalf in accordance with their data protection regulations and, in particular, not to pass it on to third parties. You can view the privacy policy of MailChimp here .

    Registration data

To subscribe to the newsletter, it is sufficient to enter your e-mail address, your first and last name when registering. We use this information to address you personally in our newsletters.

    Statistical survey and analyses

The newsletters contain a so-called "web-beacon", i.e. a pixel-sized file that is retrieved from the MailChimp server when the newsletter is opened. Within the scope of this retrieval, technical information such as information about the browser and your system, as well as your IP address and time of retrieval are first collected. This information is used to technically improve the services on the basis of the technical data or the target groups and their reading behaviour on the basis of their retrieval locations (which can be determined with the help of the IP address) or access times.

The statistical surveys also include determining whether the newsletters are opened, when they are opened and which links are clicked. This information can be assigned to the individual newsletter recipients for technical reasons. However, it is neither our nor MailChimp's aim to observe individual users. The evaluations serve us merely to recognize the reading habits of our users and to adapt our contents to them or to send different contents according to the interests of our users.

    Online access and data management

There are cases in which we refer the newsletter recipients to the MailChimp websites. For example, our newsletters contain a link with which the newsletter recipients can call up the newsletters online (e.g. in the case of display problems in the e-mail program). Furthermore, newsletter recipients can retrospectively correct their data, such as the e-mail address. Likewise, the privacy policy of MailChimp is only available on their site.

In this context, we pointed out that cookies are used on the MailChimp websites and that personal data is processed by MailChimp, its partners and service providers (e.g. Google Analytics). We have no influence on this data collection. Further information can be taken from the privacy policy of MailChimp. In addition, we draw your attention to the possibilities of objection to the data collection for advertising purposes on the websites http://www.aboutads.info/choices/ and http://www.youronlinechoices.com/ (for the European area).

    Termination/withdrawal

You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time, i.e. withdraw your permission. At the same time, your permission to its dispatch via MailChimp and the statistical analyses will expire. A separate withdrawal from the dispatch via MailChimp or the statistical analysis is unfortunately not possible. You will find a link to unsubscribe from the newsletter at the end of each newsletter.

Einen Link zur Kündigung des Newsletters finden Sie am Ende eines jeden Newsletters.

    Legal bases, data protection regulation

In accordance with the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation (DSGVO), which became effective on 25 May 2018, we would like to inform you that your permission to the dispatch of e-mail addresses is based on Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. a, 7 DSGVO and § 7 Para. 2 No. 3 or Para. 3 UWG. The use of the MailChimp shipping service, the conduct of statistical surveys and analyses as well as the logging of the registration procedure are carried out on the basis of our legitimate interests according to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f DSGVO. Our interest is focused on the utilisation of a user-friendly and secure newsletter system which serves our business interests as well as the expectations of the users.

We would also like to point out that you may object at any time to the future processing of your personal data in accordance with the statutory provisions pursuant to Art. 21 DSGVO. In particular, you may object to the processing of your personal data for the purposes of direct marketing.
